Entrepreneur Artisans:

Building vocational skills in a collaborative, experiential setting while developing a creative voice in young adults.

Entrepreneur Artisans is an intensive studio program that aids young adults 23 and older, with and without disabilities, with the transition to the next phase of work life, whether that be assisted or independent employment in a business or entrepreneurial setting. Under the leadership of our professional teaching artists, Artisans work as a creative team and as individuals to produce marketable, creatively meaningful artwork in a wide range of art media. These products are sold in the ArtMix Gallery and exhibited throughout the Central Indiana community. The Entrepreneur Artisans program offers an advanced tier of the youth-focused Urban Artisans program through an arts fellowship. We designed this tier of the Artisans Program knowing that the need to communicate through creativity and to share in the wonder of collaborative learning does not end at age 22. Through this program, Artisans gain artistic, vocational and social skills that help them in their future endeavors, whether that be in the arts or in other fields, also acknowledging that it is a human right to discover and continue with enjoyable hobbies and pastimes as we age (referring to concepts such as: art for art's sake, lifelong learning, lack of programing for those older than 22, the arts as an avocation or vocation, etc.)
